Beautiful Moments Shared Poem by Gianfranco Aurilio

Beautiful Moments Shared

When you leave me,
if you were ever to leave me,
I would try to find you
in the dark tunnels
in the maze of the heart
where all reason is abandoned
but nostalgia
always finds its way back
just so it can torment the mind.
I would look for you
under that tree in the park
where there are pillows of leaves
every autumn,
under the abandoned boat
on the seashore
where the shells
would watch us in amusement.
When you leave me,
if you were ever to leave me,
I won't knock on your door
if you choose to keep it closed
but I will come and look for you

within you.
