Beautiful But Misunderstood Poem by Anya Nikolaevna

Beautiful But Misunderstood

Rating: 5.0

I think I saw
the most beautiful girl
as I was walking down the street.
There she was
on her balcony
with a cigarette in her hand,
the sun caressing her caramel skin
and the wind brushing her wavy hair.

She seemed to be lost
in her thoughts,
which I long to understand.
Her eyes gave away
the pain she felt inside,
for she was misunderstood
by society.

I pray for the moment
where I will be able
to gather my strength
and tell her
that i love her.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
I wanted to write about love... towards a mere stranger, to remind people of the beauty you can find by solely walking down the street. Look around and admire.

on her balcony with a cigarette in her hand, lost in her thoughts, the pain she felt inside, tell her that i love her. Infatuation born out of sympathy? Love sometimes has no reason…. o explainable reason .. You have expressed it so well dear poet. Thank you very much. tony

You have captured the force of a moment of time, deeply impressed upon the soul. We are able to see what you see, and are left with that same nagging question, are we as generous with our love as we are called to be?

In my experience none of us say those three words often enough. We fear they will be misunderstood. I can't comment on all your poems but I will read them.
