Beautiful

I am beautiful
Not only because of the curve of my hips
Or the shape of my body
Not only because of the fullness of my lips
Or the curl of my eye lashes

I am beautiful because I want to be
I am beautiful because God made me that way
I am beautiful because in my eyes
There is no one more beautiful than me

I am beautiful because I have a heart
And that is a beautiful thing
I am beautiful because I have a brain
And that is a beautiful thing
I am beautiful because I give advice
And that is a beautiful thing

I am beautiful because I want to be
I am beautiful because God made me that way
I am beautiful because in my eyes
There is no one more beautiful than me

I am beautiful because I have confidence
I am beautiful because I have determination and wit
I am beautiful because I have goals and I plan to reach them
I am beautiful because I am always there to lend a helping hand

I am beautiful because I want to be
I am beautiful because God made me that way
I am beautiful because in my eyes
There is no one more beautiful than me

Hey Ellie, my poem was written in 2008 and Samuel's was written/posted in 2012...I wrote this poem and it actually annoys me that Samuel would plagiarize my work, but that's the internet and society for you. Thank you for bringing this to my attention though. (Report) Reply

You copied Samuel Newton's poem, you just changed a few words, its that, or he copied yours, they are exactly the same. except one is talking about I am beautiful, and the other is talking about YOU are beautiful. (Report) Reply

I liked the way you made yourself sound beautiful just the way you are, no matter what anyone else thinks! You create many images from your short poem and a beauty is right at the top! Good job Candice and thank you for sharing! (Report) Reply

I'd like to thank everyone for their feedback on this poem, All of your opinions were well appreciated and if you didn't like it don't worry about me taking offense, poetry is interpreted in many different ways, what may touch one person may not touch you in the same way. What one person may relate to another person just won't: -) (Report) Reply

I don't like this poem. I'm not trying to be mean, and I know by saying that it doesn't make it sound any less mean. But I don't like how the poem only says that you are beautiful. Everyone is beautiful in there own creative way. (Report) Reply
