Be Golden And Not Beholden Poem by Nichole Kaci McKnight

Be Golden And Not Beholden

I’m living my life like its golden.
I don’t wish to be beholden.
We need to embrace all of our freedom’s.
Mankind should never give up on their isms.
The pursuit of the mighty dollar is still alive.
We need to propagate and love just to survive.
They say our economy is a total bust.
Nobody knows with whom to trust.
Most of us don’t believe in a politician’s lies.
If we all live our life like its golden;
Then no one will have to be beholden.

I was inspired by the Song: ‘Golden’ by Jill Scott to write this poem.
