Basket Case Poem by Christine P

Basket Case

Rating: 5.0

When I saw you in your casket, I was just an object case of baskets. My thoughts were crazy and I moved like the walking dead, pushing up daisies. I hit my knees, and asked God please, why did you take him away from me? . When I leaned over your body, I was nothing but scared. Your body so cold I cursed at God out of fear. Whispering in your ear and kissing your face.... My heart felt tightly bound by a thick piece of lace. You were my best friend and I will always miss you. But it's time now to pick myself up and do what I need to do. So you will live in my heart, and that's where you'll stay. In that tiny little space for the rest of my days.
