Baptism In Secret Poem by Daniel McDonagh

Baptism In Secret

The county of Glasghu sat within the Mungo hills
With Loch Croy to the north and Loch Syth to the south,
And Glasghuans would worship at sunrise each day,
Submerge their bodies in the lochs to cleanse their pagan souls.
By the river Fuan, was were Neir was baptized,
A ceremony so secret, Mass was celebrated in an abandoned Druids cave,
For persecution would be the fate of these Christian disciples
Who hid from the pagans of Glasghu, their Christian faith.
