Azure Poem by Danny The Dreamer Boyd

Azure

I took a step outside to watch the sky;
I found it clear, I took but one step more,
How glad I were, I shut behind the door;
I wish I'd known that clouds were lurking by!
I barely blinked, I was then soaked, oh why!
I could not go to where I were before:
How helpless! I stood begging for some more;
I'd hoped persistence then would testify.
I looked around and found a fainted bow; —
Has Heaven smiled? Is this my pot of gold? —
Like fools, I rushed and little did I know:
Upon my touch more clouds would then unfold;
Aglow I am in your unending cold!
My bittersweet Azure when would you glow?
