Away Poem by Green Leaf

Away

To leave forth I must!
It may sound unjust.
Like a general I have prepared
Sacrifices in my mind I have declared.

Like a ship attached to the bay,
Slowly the rope might fade away.
Hanging to freedom newly acquired
Adding the edge to the skills required.

Departures are hard, and always not easy
Sometimes abrupt, and silence….. too easy.
Let’s hope that when leaving, none will be busy,
So that departure,
Might not come that easy.

There is a course, that one needs to take.
With action and thought one can raise the stake.
However new ways need to be made,
There for one sometimes, somewhere, will fade.

Connections might break,
And friendships might shake,
And faces might change,
And hair turn grey,
While memories stay,
Oblivion away.

Succumbed by time’s aide,
I hope I woun’t fade.

Despite all above and maybe much more
I do hope to one day reach my shore.
