Autumn With You. Poem by Dan Reynolds

Autumn With You.

Autumn with you.
(T.C.-LYMOBF)

Another year, another ring,
around our silver birch will bring.
Another cascade of leaves to ground,
for sweeping and bagging and bending down.
Another chance for frost or snow,
to clear the bugs, and so, help grow.
Another phase, another face.
A twilight in our favourite place.
A joy for years, inwardly denied,
my room of choice, our room outside.

As Autumn spreads it’s cloak of gold,
anticipate the new for old.
Fear not the chill,
that Winter may bring,
for we cannot see every Spring.
So on the here and now, we focus.
Enjoy today,
live, love and pray,
for the bonus of sharing another Crocus.
