Autistic Point Of View Poem by Robert Edmondson

Autistic Point Of View

Down the forgotten road, I travel.

Walking thought the memories

misplaced.

Casually seeing the mundane and the magical

the Sights I've tucked away.

People of my past

live here

Old friends, lovers, family

step out to greet me, to welcome me home.

All want me to stay

they show me the fantasy world

I knew a long time ago.

The offer is too great, too wonderful.

I step from the road

and close the gates of Reality

behind me.

I reside now......along that road

safe, not isolated.............

loved, not lonely.............

needed.................
