August Solitude Poem by LeeAnn Azzopardi

August Solitude

Rating: 5.0

I have no desire to celebrate my birth
You finally got yr way, Mum
Without you, I cannot smile
Or want the independence I received
It's too late to give you the mink coat I promised
Though, it's not proper to give
It's too late to bring anything you desire
Except this prison sentence
I am eternally lonely without you
But you knew that

Such painful apathy and loneliness are brilliantly conveyed in this great tribute to your mother.

Many times there are blessings all around us, though we just don't feel them at the time. And one day we'll feel again, the sunshine... Again Beyond #ing! ..++++++++++++++++++++++++

Regret at losing a loved one is always with us, what we should have done or said. Sadness is a prison that happier memories can unlock. I feel for you at this sad time.
