Attention Seekers Poem by Francis Duggan

Attention Seekers

Than all others more attention they deserve to receive
This is what the attention seekers do believe
Most of them in the news often and some every day
That they receive far too much attention only true for to say
In the age of self promotion their sort seem to thrive
Without attention one wonders how could they survive
At social or community gatherings or parties or wherever people meet
For attention with each other they always compete
The humble of mind their numbers are few
And this is not saying anything that is new
Attention seekers are into self in a big way
They live for to be in the news every day
At least anyhow this is how it seems to me
Though few with such an opinion would choose to agree.
