AT HOME WITH THE HAMLETS(for me auld pal Al)

To pee or not to pee
that is...the vexation.

Whether anything could be horribler
than this tiny trickle of pee

in the wee wee
hours of the night.

'It delights
not me! '

he mumbles sleepily.

Each dropp of urine
wrung from him

like blood
from a stone.

God damn
this prostate!

Ophelia
overwrought
being overweight

turns and takes
all the bedclothes

to her side
of the bed

leaving Ham
in the cold.

She farts gently
smiles softly to her self.

The rest
is silence.
