At An Intersection Poem by Mohammad Muzzammil

At An Intersection

Rating: 3.5

I stand at intersection and musing
on which road i should go
different paths leads different goals
which one is better i don't know.
one is favourite of my father,
other my mother and rest society,
but my way differs them all.
My mind says something that heart refuse
whom should i follow I'm confused.

COMMENTS OF THE POEM

This poem is about a common dilemma faced by many young people. It is not new. Deciding what to do with one's life amid pressures from family and society and following one's own heart. I like that the poet did not resolve the question in this poem, because I think it would have detracted from the tension he built in his narration. -Charles Darnell
