At A Busy Junction Poem by indira babbellapati

At A Busy Junction

Rating: 3.5

the antics were meant to
draw the attention of busy
office-goers though involved risk
what with number of vehicles
stranded at the signals
the lean body, some seven years
in all dressed in dirty tatters
had an iron ring taking rounds
on the cheerful bones
he somersaulted in the narrow space
between two two-wheelers in
impatient urgency beside a car
the narrow space wasn't a
bother for the little boy
carefully watched over
by a pair of eyes from far

just when there's green
he bagan to run amuck
his hands stretched out
for alms...
