Aspie Poem by Josephine Dunn

Aspie

Rating: 4.0

I'm not like you
I don't think like you do
I don't get the things you do
When you play a trick
Or behave like a dick
I don't find it funny
I want my Mummy
To comfort and explain
To take away the pain
Please don't do it again.

I'm not like you
I don't like your fun
It makes me want to run
It makes me need to hide
It makes me hurt inside
It makes me want to die.

I'm not like you
I love the fields
I love the trees
They are what I need
To give me peace
I love the sea
I love the sand
I even like walking
Hand in hand.

I'm not like you
I need my space
A state of Grace
A quiet place
You're far too loud
You're in my face.

I'm not like you
I don't want to play
Please go away
Just let me stay
Until I'm calm
Don't push so hard
I'm so unready
I'm so unsteady
You'll make me fall
I shake like a leaf
When you give me grief.

I'm not like you
I'm not like you.
