You have painted me
A shade of pale
As I wander beyond
The banded veil

I roam the path
Adrift and astray
Lost to the light
Of the dawning day

Fears and thoughts
Still pull me away
Far from the trek where
My will holds sway

But I trust that my heart
Will find the way
When memories past
Do heavily weigh

I must hold true
And dare not dismay
Lest those terrors
Do readily betray

So I close my eyes
Knowing I cannot fail
If I let my heart lead
Past the banded veil
