As Heart Bellows Poem by Doris Cornago

As Heart Bellows

Rating: 5.0

Flames die down, sparks flicker with ashes
Once more, our enemies leave us rattled
Despondent, without balm for wounds
Hunger pangs affect our decisions
Echoes resound as heart bellows
Sun and moon create shadows
Children hung by the beams
Unsettled lay our dreams
Supplanted by schemes
Disappointed drones
Disgraced heroes
Languishing in
Dungeons
Unruly
Victorious
Bullies mock
Appetites aping
Vulgar chanting in
Lustful merrymaking
Dunking in orange urine
Drinking from precious cups
Rituals entombed with ancestors
Fornicators, dissidents without nations
Yet so powerful, vanquish marginal poverty
Mercenaries of a foreign legion, knock on doors

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Who are you? What do you value most? What will you pay to have this thing of most value? As you read this poem, reflect on these relevant questions and perhaps, the world will be a little better for one human finding his way. This poem is not a criticism but a form of therapeutic spiritual exercise.

Yes. I have and thus, stopped running after what the world calls as better. I pay for it with my self-sacrifice to ambitions and value of self.

I am a man. I value love. Love conquers love, it’s not sold and purchased. The world is better in love but casualties in the conquest of love were too much!

Anything of value is worth fighting for, not in hate, but for love. :)

It’s easy to purchase hate, yes, it’s sold and purchased No holy war is needed!

Love is between two persons, but also can be for an ideal. We love and hate at the same time, in contrast to that which we love. The softness with which we love must be protected against all cost, with our lives or our love comes to nothing as that which we love can be taken away.

Heart bellows came from this biblical passage: I shall bewail many who who have sinned already and have not repented of the uncleanness and lasciviousness which they have committed. Bellows is to shout in a loud voice, or (of a cow or large animal) to make a loud, deep sound. This impresses on you the depth of this heart's anguish.

Hi Bro Bernard. It's frightening to say the least but it's also okay to be inspired. Thank you.
