Are We Not Guilty Also Poem by Tinashe Mupedzapasi

Are We Not Guilty Also

Wasn't it a good idea to have back our lands?
Wasn't it our prayer to be free and independent man?
Did we not shed tears in times of torment
and prayed for a change
Didn't some go to war to make our dreams live?

Wasn't we given lands and we greedily took what we cant manage
Didn't we slaughter the livestock and waste away our spoils
Who destroyed our dream
Whom should we blame
Are we not all guilty also?

We have failed ourselves
Now we blame somebody
What do we do then,
Sit back and mourn?

Are we not guilty also?
