April Love Poem by Joyce Hemsley

April Love

How golden are the memories
of beautiful girl meeting boy,
when romance simmered on the air
and rapturous love was their joy.

With eagerness came a first kiss
hand in hand, hearts took wing,
nothing was more wonderful
than sweet inspiration of spring.

But did those caresses ever last
or did the fantasy grow stale?
April love can live for a lifetime
altho' for some it's a sad-sad tale.
