Today, I woke to sense and feel
a change within the morning air;
As if the world had paused to heal
wounds of worry, doubt and care.

Sweet scents of anticipation
wafted on a pleasant breeze;
Was it my imagination,
that heard whispers in the trees?

Then, triumphant sounds of birdsong
resounded to enchant, enthrall;
I could not help but sing along
to join the joyous clarion call!

Wash the darkness of last night,
Today is new, bathe in sunlight!
