And What Of This Place Poem by Matthew Holloway

And What Of This Place

And what of this world
This place, this hell hole
In which we are forced to reside
This dammed place
These people, the ignorant
Repulsive vile beings
Politeness, kindness forgotten
All appear to be in a hurry
The instant coffee, fast food
Reality defined existence
What would celebrity do?
Ears hung on wasteful beings
False beautification demanded
The impossible body, diet
The news worthy fashion
A forlorn wasteful existence
Leaves the soul forgotten
The soul is more beautiful
Than the painted, sculpted form
For it is real honest, beautiful
The naked being, open being
Honest soul ripe to be tasted
Fruits of truth flavour
The waters of life
Love, laughter, memories
Are born through this
The good and the bad
Such is such, and all will be
The world it's soul
And you and me
