And As I Gaze Poem by Nashy Lamen

And As I Gaze

I met a man not too long ago,
so quickly we became friends,
A charming man so kind and swift,
but slowly the mascaraed ends.

You thought he was an ideal man,
one who never plays,
He'll make you comfy, he'll make you warm,
but he twists your mind in many ways.

You see you'll think he's great and all,
but actually it fades off,
he'll be the man you want him to,
he'll make you feel like his like you.

he'll prance along your lowly jokes,
But you'll never know what he does,
behind your back he's just a man,
longing to belong, longing to gain your trust.

And as I stand before him,
As I gaze into his eyes,
I realized,

the only person he can't be,
is the person standing in front of me.
