to say that you feel just fine
you've gotta prove it
you've gotta show it on the outside

convince myself
upon waking up
that the future holds more for me
than i think it does


convince myself
among acquaintances
that they think more highly of me
than i give them credit for

convince myself
when i do my work
that what i do is appreciated
and it's good work

convince myself
that i still believe
what i tell myself
to believe
