An Ode To Beauty Poem by Matloob Bokhari

An Ode To Beauty

AN ODE TO BEAUTY
Confused by the study of books,
Majnun was sitting on the peak of Najad,
With eyes closed, head on knees.
Pondering in wonder about Lord of lords,
Who taught a baby to suck the breast
And a bright-feathered bird to fly.
Buried in thoughts, he saw a shadow,
Quivering in wave less, windless water.
Layla, brighter than full moon, stood
Calm in fragrant breeze and smiling sunshine,
Where refreshing rain was falling drop by drop.
Both danced on the streams of sunbeams.
Songs of love turned the valley into green.
Layla, radiating her beauty, said:
'Majnun, you are a true lover,
My beauty will reveal you Truth.
You will see white pearl in the shell.
My beauty will take you away
From the bonds of sects and creeds.
Majnun, Who created world out of Love
Desires all the children of the land to be united
In one brotherhood in the love of kind Lord

Daveda Gruber: What a beautiful story told so well Matloob. Love is what the world needs more of.

Ekaterina Polishchuk: A very good poem. I like it has its own story and melody. All writings (novels, poems) , paintings, music, I perceive if they have special melody flow- sometimes loud, sometimes low - I say good writing because it has the energy to sound. I say I should read this again as, in your poem, melody flows))))))

Kevin M. Hibshman: I think this is so wonderfully beautiful,
very sweet.

speak to me. Truly beautiful write, Matloob.... inspiration... behind it.

Demelia Denton: Wonderful writing and stories from you. Find your writing very interesting. It is very refreshing to read your stories....Different from western world culture. I am also very keen on history and mythical tales from times gone by!

Daveda Gruber: Lovely words brought to life by you!
AVM Sajid Habib: Matloob, here you are as a powerful story-teller whose objective is to reassure humanity, 'Love is God'... On a lighter note, good to read 'Layla brighter than moonlight' and 'radiating her beauty'. This must be miracle of love that appeared to Majnun, as Layla was pretty much dark in complexion with little light to radiate'... Cheers for this flowing melody indeed.:
