An Ode For A Poet Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

An Ode For A Poet

Recently I read a momentous poem
Expressing the thoughts of a dying fellow
Each word attached and would not let go
Tears commenced; I could not stop the flow

With all that is worthwhile, I began to realize
His words were a mirror of life’s imperfections
Past the shadows of anguish and despair…
A beautiful person stood beyond the reflection

In that moment, a feeling of sadness lifted
Praying his last days could be less painful
Hoping that he could be at peace knowing
His poetry has made our lives more meaningful
