Amarna Poem by John Fenton Mcleish

Amarna

through underworld ride stella boat
traverse oceans galaxies stars
Hyksos red blood o' set
flows inte Judea

drifting under Phoenician sails
fay canaan te banks o' nile
o' how I long for Amarna
desert dreams fay my exile

lord EL has brought me hither
blown across many a sea
orions belt my destination
fair winds o' liberty

can ye feel the breeze upon your face
see Solomon descend in the west
Adonai will rise again
resurrection Osiris

delta dawn tree o' life
zion my tributary
golden ankh breathe yur light
through vain and artery

worship the spirit o' amun ra
banished fay avaris
noo my sayel wanders the night
lost tribe in exodus

great isis make me whole again
dismembered torn apart
brothers fight amongst themselves
in a land wi' many scars

son o' horus horizon
ascend in eastern sky
aton the unifier
Davidian ancestral line

morning rays o' Lucifer
bathe ancient kingdoms dynasties past
submerged beneath the sands o' time
illuminated in gnostic hearts

secret knowledge wisdom o' thoth
Egyptian book o' the dead
father o' glorias nations
hidden mysteries and cabbalist sects

though scribes will curse my epitaph
masons erase my name
chiselled inte obscurity
only te materialize once again

I will create a new atlantis
an eden hanging in mind
for I am the cosmic architect
fay within is a' that will shine

angels hover above giza
as I meditate under sphinx's paw
o' causeways lined wi' glowing torches
chariots lit up so spectacular

immeasurable in depth her beauty
processions o' planets and priests
pyramids and obelisks
sacrificial fires in Heliopolis

I am all knowing all seeing
scarab cobra snake
I am the sparkling diamonds
that in nut proliferate

papyrus lillies blue lotus
reincarnation virgin child
Anubis leads the royal parade
infinity permeates the psyche

winding through valleys mountains
gazing inte the serpents eye
stretching inte immortality
behold such a wonderful sight

akhetaton appears in the distance
image flutters in river mirage
pillars bleached by divinity
heretic temple built in earth so stark

bow bends the reeds in blackened soil
waves lap lightly against the hull
this paradise my redemption
where gods can drink their fill

my princess waits upon the shore
white robed immaculate dove
she will be my oasis sanctuary
come to me my darling my love

a millennium o' separation
eons roaming hades so dark
but now I return a fallen angel
finally home at last
