Am I A Selfish Woman? Poem by Diane Monte

Am I A Selfish Woman?

Rating: 4.7

My mind is always preoccupied with personal fulfillment,
Happiness relied on my success and achievement,
A heart of thankfulness does not matter or not a habit,
I am a selfish woman who takes pride but no gift of a good spirit.

Each day has twenty-four hours; still rushing to do such stuff,
Motivating and pursuing goal to finish and satisfy myself,
Exhausted and lost strength, can't slow down with my busy pace,
I am a selfish woman who thinks all is important and ready on the next race.

The worst part of it is that it has not made me happy,
Stealing my days to grab those wonderful opportunities on my way,
Ambition full of pride without humility, creating mind with vanity,
I am a selfish woman with odd days because of responsibility.

Really nice poem, I think it's part of human nature to be self-centered at times but so long as we don't lose sight of our humanity that's the main think.

Yeah, there is nothing wrong in being selfish when one has to perform ones duty honestly. you are so open to confess. Very nice.

We all are little selfish and there is no harm in being selfish but always keeping our priorities over others is a something to ponder on. The subject and the poem is thought provoking, enjoyed it. Thanks for sharing 10+++
