Alone in the darkness, I shiver and shake
The cold seeps into my bones, making me ache
I feel so uncomfortable, so out of place
Lost in the shadows, with no familiar face

The darkness surrounds me, it's all I can see
A never-ending void, consuming me
I feel so high on the darkness, it's like a drug
But deep down inside, I know it's just a thug

It lures me in with promises of peace
But all it brings is a sense of unease
I try to reach for the stars above
But they seem so far, so out of touch

I feel complacent in this world of black
But deep down inside, I know I lack
The warmth and light that I so crave
But in this darkness, I am just a slave

I try to wash away the pain I feel
But it lingers on, refusing to heal
The chemicals pour into me, numbing the ache
But deep down inside, I know it's all fake

I should feel guilty for feeling good
But in this darkness, I misunderstood
The pain and the pleasure, they intertwine
In this realm of darkness, where I can't define

I have no voice to argue with my mind
As I sink deeper into the darkness, blind
To the reality of my misbehaving soul
Lost in the shadows, with no way to console

I try to break free from this endless night
But the darkness holds me, with all its might
I long for the light, for a glimmer of hope
But in this darkness, I can barely cope

Alone in the darkness, I stand and wait
For a ray of light to illuminate
The path out of this cold and lonely place
Where I can finally find my saving grace.
