Alone Poem by Juan Olivarez

Alone

There is an old saying
Better alone
Than in bad company.
Alone you can sip
Your Black & White
And nobody rags you about it.

Alone you can smoke
Your Arturo Fuentes
Curly head
And no one
Has a fit of coughing.

Alone you can sleep
In your Fruit Of The Looms
And not worry
About terrifying
Your daughter in law
As you saunter
To the bathroom.

Alone you can
Pass all the gas
your bloated stomach
Can dish out
And nobody will be offended.
