All I Ask Poem by Shelby Barker

All I Ask

Tell me I'm the first droplet to end your
drought, the floods that liberated your heart.
That, before me, you didn't think you'd find
anybody;
but you don't hold back in fear of
getting hurt
anymore.

No.

Tell me I'm deep and don't need
such flowery words to woo you.
Tell me
which shirt you like me best in, or
that you like my naked poems even
though you don't
understand them. No

tell me I make you proud,

and that you're happier now.

tell me I'm worth your while.

tell me I make
you smile.
