All Babble Yet No Travel Poem by Tyrone Gayle

All Babble Yet No Travel

Question, have your eardrums ever been banged with words so powerful,
They make your heart jump and embarrassed the earth's gravitational pull?
It's as if you have been sweet talked by a celestial lyricist of progress,
'You are already impressive, you are just adding to your impressiveness.'

Oh, I should just shut up then cover my nose for that's garbage and I know it,
Don't get me wrong, it's motivational but how are we going to reap if we don't sow it,
As humans we're always picking up a quote but in action we rarely throw it,
Be honest, we're too busy with the theory of success so on the practical we'll blow it,

A lot of us are gradually growing into self-captured slaves who toil on a lip service field,
If we continue in this line of wicked work to setbacks we might unknowingly yield,
Maybe I'm just talking about myself, then again, this is for whom it may concern,
I write poems, not lessons but from this piece I hope someone can learn.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The fourth line of the poem was a quote by a speaker at an event at my college. This quote slapped a big smile across my face then the smile quickly went away. I realized that I am constantly moved by words but most of the time I fail to put them to work. So this poem is me crying out for that change within and persons experiencing this same disease as well.
