Alfonso Henriquez became
A Knight of the Templars to fight
For the Catholic Church in aim
To conquer infidels with might.
In Portugal, Alfonso fought
Back the Moors coming to invade.
An end to Catholics was sought.
But Alfonso in brave crusade
Did wage many a fierce campaign,
And forced Moor armies to retreat,
Leaving the Catholic domain
Victorious in Moor defeat.

And Alfonso's Church rewarding -
Was ordained Portugal's first king.
