Ahoy- Poets In Disguise! Poem by Jacson Gelato

Ahoy- Poets In Disguise!

When someone tells them the truth,
they want to make others feel like brutes
but have they ever read poetry
of William Shakespeare, Robert Browning
or any other poet's work with sincerity and jubilance?

There are modern poets who write just retorts
or four line verses or stanzas and enforce the world
to read it and accept it as poetry.
How can such bickering or opinions and rage
be called poetry or works of gentleness?

How can such poets sleep without guilt
knowing that they do not know the eloquence,
the connotation, the denotation of poetry?

Poetry is a field of appreciation of beauty,
and vouches for a sense of dedication
to display explicit thoughts of enlightenment.

Disguised poets short circuit their thoughts
and disparage the value of literature,
of expression and of impression.

There are also poets who write compositions
of their past experiences and memories
just like a class essay and feel it is poetry.

It pains the heart of a genuine artist
if someone just scribbles on a paper an image
of a python and splashes it with color
to make it look like a masterpiece -
will that genuine artist accept such work
as a work of art or scorn at it?

Yet poets in disguise are sadly taking pride
in penning counterfeit poetry
and imposing it on people to read their verses
they must refrain from such actions
as they will feel more happier and peaceful
if they do not disturb the tranquility of the world
with their feigned skills and zigzag poems.
