Against All Odds Poem by Mathew Welch

When we first met, I would have never thought.
That we would have come as far as we have.
In the beginning, sneaking around trying to not get caught.
Cuddling up, talking and having a good laugh.

Watching movies and falling asleep with one another.
Chit chatting in the car asking questions about my mother.
Would she like you, of course she would.
An awkward hug but no kiss even though we should.

I was captivated by your beauty and who you are.
Falling in love with you more and more every day.
There was no doubting that you were the perfect woman for me by far.
It was on the New Years Night that I found the courage to say.

'Would you be mine? '.
I knew it then, that it was a sign.
That no matter what we were supposed to be together.
Against all odds.

This Poem is dedicated to the love my life.
