Again Is A Foolish Animal Poem by james watkin

Again Is A Foolish Animal

Again is a foolish animal
Being led to the slaughter.
Again, man. And by war-time's
Ogrous corral-master.

Tame herds, firstly driven mad.
Perversely made to appear
To sprout a horn; devilish tail;
Magnifying the other's fear.

This is its devouring site.
Quag's miasmatic pounds, heaves
Through which patriotic ritual
A blood sacrifice receives.
