After Years Of Maturity Poem by fadinginto oblivion

After Years Of Maturity

Rating: 4.0

After years of maturity
I took wearied steps towards the room,
To unlock that door.
The door that has been locked
Since-since I don’t remember when
Probably when I first went out with friends
Live friends who replaced them,
Those inanimate objects
Which now lie scattered in the room.
Where the blue paint is flaking off.
Where the dust seems to have settled
-Settled forever on the carpet.
Where the ball lies in the corner, deflated.
Where cobwebs have covered their faces
But they still welcome me.
Those frizzy golden hairs still shine
The smell of plastic and rubber is still in the air
Those lifeless plastic blue eyes still gleam
As they all stare at me
I step forward
To restore the old bond
To reacquire the naivety,
The innocence lost
I try to restore it through them.

Wow, this really takes you, from the present, back a step as you read it. Nice work.
