Africa Poem by Dwayne Gordon

Africa

Rating: 5.0

Being an African American in this nation bring lots of frustration
They use our invention to build up their nation without even saying congratulations

This war will never end
Oh no my friend, it goes on and on
Oil getting so expensive-only alternative
We plant more corn

Once was the richest country
Now it needs your help to break the spell of the witch
Other nations don't care- only want to see Africa fall in the ditch

We are strong with lot of power, yes this is true
If all Africans could come together- imagine what we can do

Please remember Africa in all that you say and do
When you take a bite or a trip (remember) ,
Africa helped shaped this world too.

Very Good work. communicates anger well yet argues a subtle and important point - africa's contirbution to world history. Really liked metaphor from richest nation to now needing help to escape the ignorance of witchcraft. thanks
