Adoring Love Poem by Cat Hodgson

Adoring Love

Adoring Love

I bow my head humbled
You are my God, always have been
I need to feel your touch each day
I want to walk in your light
Guided by your arms about me

Tears fall down my cheek
You are here, I feel you
In the breeze, that ruffles my hair
The sun kiss on my shoulder

The storm that whirls about
You are ominous
You rule, but let me choose
Hold my hand when I am weak

Help me to please you
For I know it is best
Contentment only you can bring
I enjoy this world you gave

Yet, I know it is not all it could be
I marvel at that thought
We have invited darkness, yet
Oh, the promises of a new earth

I look at the glory of heavens
Far beyond my human eye
I see the care that each bee
Gives free to the flower

The love you have bestowed to me
Gentle, caring like new love coupled
Your love is in the new mother's eye
I rejoice in your endlessly gifts

Come walk in my garden
Touch me with dew kisses
Scented by rose petals
Hinted with lilac breeze

I treasure your gifts, savor the love
I stand on tiptoes, hands stretched
Reaching, moved triumph,
Enclosed by adoring love
