Admit Only One Poem by Evette Morales

Admit Only One

Lord give me patience
For what have I done
I sold my secret
And admit ONLY one

The breath that you take
Can blow me away
I have none to hold onto
Since I can admit ONLY one

What would you have done
If you can admit ONLY one
If the crime is cruel
And the servant showed no mercy
As to left with ONLY one

I have none left
A shallow open heart
Torn and ripped up
Split, broken up

Admit ONLY one
A secret that kills
So skillfully slowly
Leaving you cold
Barren and lonely

A sad repeat
A lone imitation
What has become
Of this nation?

Admit ONLY one
Explains all life's mysteries
And goes beyond
This world's boundaries...
