Acenturyago Poem by Rob Knetsch

Acenturyago

watch the clock
ticking away
listen to the movement
of the second hand
pushing you forward
minute by minute
hour by hour
from light to dark
to light
from night to day
to night

tonight
you get the chance
to jump toward the past
as far as you want
to go back
as far as a century
hundred years
so many seconds
so many days and nights
so many lives

your life
stretched out
over a century
the longest line
your lifeline
from a century
back to forth
into eternity
alive forever
