One’s better off in bed
Better off where they tread
Better off here instead
Better off with some books read

One’s better off on their feet
To prepare faces to meet
And prepare words to greet
The signs on the street
Of taking a stand or sitting on a seat

One’s sinew’s better than one’s bone
One’s company than one’s lone
One’s glass is better than one’s stone
One small outlook is better than one full grown
