Above All Odds She Is A Leader Poem by Namile Zamangwane Hlongwane

Now that she is born please,
recognize her too, not that she want
praises but the truth of who she is
Not that she does not know her name,
her surname or maiden name she does!
But there are so many lies
the society has sold to her to believe
That she is the least
important because of gender, her opinion
are clashed in decision making and she weeps hurtfully
Mostly painfully her own family depresses her too
Her sin was to be born a she, her sin is to be a she
She cries for days even abused has turn to love to her
Abuse and un-ending rules has blinded her mind
to find comfort in sorrows, pains, tears and sleepless night
even in the absent of her husband, she heads the home but
do not own, her sin is to be a woman
she has lost respect of herself because she is been raped daily
her sin is to be a female and after that she been called names
Sadly even what GOD's definition for her is twisted in the very
so called holy places, sad the very people she gave birth too
subordinates her, But despite all she is the leader and she recognizes herself build her self and find comfort in the very pains and rise above all odds.
