Treasure Island

Viggo Stuckenberg

Aaliv

Se Sivene nejer
for Vinden og svejer
med Toppen koket,
og Bølgerne danser
i Aakandepanser
en stiv Menuet.

Saa kommer en Guldsmed der inde fra Landet,
staalblaa og gylden og flot i sin Flugt,
skødesløst stryger den tæt over Vandet,
oppe og nede, ret frem og i Bugt.

Og Aakanden blinker
duggperlet og vinker
til Guldsmeden blødt:
du spraglede Flyver!
hvis Øjet ej lyver,
saa kysser du sødt!

Og Guldsmeden klipper med Vingen i Solen,
staalblaa og gylden og øm i sit Blik,
Aakanden gynger i Gyldenstykskjolen,
henrykt, betagen af Kysset, den fik.

Poem of the Day

poet Robert Frost

Some say the world will end in fire,
Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
