A Wave And A Smile Poem by Edmund V. Strolis

A Wave And A Smile

Rating: 5.0

If you find yourself here in our corner of the world
Along some dusty forgotten country road
If you find yourself kicking along the same path
Give a nod or better yet a wave, familiar and friendly.
That's what people do, people of decent sensibilities
Folks that share the rutted road, imperfect but trying
Folks that suffer the isolation, apart but never alone

Muck and muddy storm washed roads
Stifling hot a dusty dirt cloud rising
Frozen, perilous icy ruts unyielding
Lost under snowy western windy mischief.

The country's heart beats in solemn time

So if you happen to find yourself here.
Give a nod, or better yet, a wave is best
Yes, if you find yourself on a rocky road
Go for broke with a wave and a smile

Verily, the poem expresses a great similitude and philosophy of life....10
