A Very Short Knights' Tale Poem by Etienne Charilaou

A Very Short Knights' Tale

Third times the charm
it'll do no harm
to try my 3rd time luck
it only takes a little pluck
to roam as an errant knight
looking for a fight
with that fellow there
on his shield a bear
lances drop and charge we do
splintering wood is all we do
now on foot swords drawn
have at thee until morn
no clear victor does emerge
we both agree ‘resist the urge'
‘My friend, share an ale! '
‘Yes, without fail!
So off to a tavern we did ride
and setting our steeds aside
at a table we did sit
and merry made at it
