A Sunflower And The Sun Poem by Juan Olivarez

A Sunflower And The Sun

Rating: 5.0

Have you ever seen a sunflower,
How her face follows the sun?
Minute by minute, hour by hour,
Until the day is done.

As if admiring an older brother,
That shines high up in the sky.
Could they be from the same mother,
And he's the sparkle in her eyes?

And when the night falls she will turn,
Her face back to the east.
All night to see his face she'll yearn,
And consequently, gets no rest.
