A Summer Rain Poem by Ray Hansell

A Summer Rain

Rating: 4.0

A summer shower cools the day
As a rainbow paints the sky
I watch the clouds high above
As they drift on by

On their way to who knows where
To maybe rain on another place
Where the summer heat burns real hot
As sweat rolls down someone's face

Perhaps they to will be cooled
By the suddenness from a down pour
As the rain falls
They'll all head indoors

Soon the clouds will roll away
Soon just to be a memory
Until the next time
When the clouds again come our way

When the reader can picture and feel what the writer is describing, then that is the mark of a successful poet. You have achieved that with this poem, by conveying the impression of raindrops on my skin, and clouds in motion. Bravo, Ray! : -)
