A Summer Afternoon Poem by Vrunda Shankara

A Summer Afternoon

The afternoon is warm,
Sun is at its brightest,
The warm breeze,
Caress my skin.
The home is quiet,
A pair of bulbuls,
are in a conversation,
As I hear that song of theirs,
as if in tandem,
Chirping sparrows join in,
& the sun birds, join the chorus too.
It was all like a lullaby,
as I was about to fall asleep.
All of a sudden,
a cloud of cicada,
decides to join the party!
Loud, lengthy, high pitched,
But, all seem to be in harmony
However, &, whatever one feels
Nature never fails to make one feel better

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
The garden, next to my balcony, is always alive, noisy, with al the birds singing, sometimes all at once
