A Story Teller: Sitting Around A Campfire At Night Poem by Terence George Craddock

A Story Teller: Sitting Around A Campfire At Night

Rating: 5.0

it has been said that the best writer
is like the best story teller sitting
around a campfire at night telling
a story so good that you can see it
touch it feel it taste it
like you are really there
living every moment
of the story seeing

experiencing each moment
told as if you are living
the story but who is the best poet?
a poet like an Olympic diver
who can stand upon the high board
and make any dive despite degrees
of difficulty to perfection
to dive at a precise moment

in time with every movement
trained into perfect synchronized
perfection until the final split
second entry into the water
without a splash with barely a ripple
upon the water a poet like a gold
medalist Olympic diver completing
perfect dives like perfect poems

then disappearing
without a trace
diving into the blue
